New to forum, stage 1 kit issues...
Checked out the lower sensor today and the wires look intact. They're not wrapped as your pictures show so I may need to do that for some extra protection. The time I've spent with the technician has lead us to think its something with the wastegate, so I'll provide the info above to see if they can see anything. My dealer has been pretty good so far, this car is rare and they haven't seen these issues before. They've contacted the GM service hotline and that lead to the soldering of the connections, may be time for them to call the hotline again.
lets us know what happens...
Like I said....it sounds like we both have similar issues...(even though I've never thrown a CEL)
I've personally checked my wastegate, rod, nipple, and nuts...everything seems fine. I just removed the wastegate actuator...cleaned it all up, checked for any broken nipples...then shot 12 volts to it....and it's making a "clicking" noise...so I'm thinking there is nothing wrong with it either. Guess I'll try the next step....a reflash.....

They're now leaning towards the bypass valve. Not a powertrain warranty part so I'm going to wait a little on it. The lower MAP sensor is good, MAF sensor is relatively new, wastegate checked out. After long discussions with the mechanic, I think he's right based on my indications when driving the car. Any idea if there's an aftermarket bypass vavle for these cars? The stock one sounds a little cheaply made.

I was told that was possibly my problem too....so I replaced it with the forge motorsports BPV. BUT....it wasn't. Mine still runs like hell....no improvements. Just sent Vince some datalogs of the car....hopefully he can discover if something is wrong with the PCM or something...
The powertrain warranty only covers part of the powertrain. The bypass valve is separate from the turbo assembly so its not covered. Had a nice long talk with Chevy customer service and they're referring the case to a regional manager. Have had the car in 6 times in over a year for this problem and spent over $450 in what they thought was the problem. Not willing to go further until they can properly diagnose the car...
The bypass valve is actually part of of the turbo. The valve itself sits inside of the turbo so I don't know why they are trying to say its not covered. The only part that is actually bolted onto the turbo is the wastegate actuator......still members here have had that replaced under powertrain warranty with a new turbo.
They're saying that there is a charge bypass valve and solenoid, apparently mounted somewhere around the top/side of the engine. The tech was off the day I picked it up so he couldn't show it to me. Is there a bypass valve and a bov on these cars? I'm apparently learning more than the tech on this one, really frustrating since they're supposed to be the experts.

now the bypass valve solenoid is located on the left side of the intake manifold. it has 3 vacuum lines coming in/out of it and there is the bypass valve solenoid vacuum tank located underneath the intake manifold. crate engine depot sells the solenoid...not very expensive but i hate just trying parts to see if that is the problem or not.....maybe try a new one and see if that is the fix
here is what the solenoid looks like......ignore the routing of the vacuum lines...your lines are routed differently
Is there a way to bypass the solenoid all together...just to see if the BOV is working properly?
I know what you mean here....I bought a wastegate actuator solenoid...thinking that could possibly be my problem..but of coarse...it wasn't.
