I don't remember why, but I think it's an upgrade. Do some research.
But now that you know you have a low mileage engine, you can really start upgrading. I got the Opel fuel rail, Bosch 3-bar TMAP sensors, and an ECM tune from ZZP when I got the new engine. Recently I got their new intercooler.
Of course, find out if any of these parts are already installed.
Fuel trim rich does not mean the same as rich A/F mixture. It could be caused by a vacuum leak, like I tried to relate earlier. And, said vacuum leak might lead to the bypass valve not working. Being that the engine is NOT the original it may not have the tank but the hoses may be compromised.
I believe that if the Opel fuel rail is installed, without tuning for it, the engine will run a little rich. Would that cause the code, donbrew? Just a shot in the dark. We would have to figure out how to tell the difference in fuel rails/injectors.
I might be able to get over to my shop tomorrow and compare the Opel that is installed on the car, to the original that is on the old LNF.
I'm not sure if you could check it with smoke. Are you puffing smoke into the area, hoping to see where it gets sucked in by the vacuum? I would think if the cooling fan turned on, it would ruin your test. I suppose you could disable the fan while you did your test.
With the vacuum pump, you apply vaccum without the engine running. If it holds, no leak. If it doesn't, then the smoke would come in handy.
So if you wanted to find out which fuel rail is installed(original or Opel), I took a picture of the label on my original fuel rail. You would have to remove the intake manifold and the foam insulation to see the label. It's near the end, under the #4 cylinder/injector.
Here is the Opel fuel rail from ZZP, the label is on the top, center of the fuel rail. I wonder if it could be seen with a mirror or inspection camera? It doesn't look like it would be hidden by the foam insulation, like the original.
I will try to see if I can take a look at injectors with a camera or mirror. I did do some work to the car today. I installed bpv solenoid and clean maf. Engine light is off after reset and I went for a drive. Came back turned it off and on and it didn't hesitate to start like sometimes it did. Car runs good as of now getting 14psi ish. My only thing is I'm still hearing turbo flutter I believe. If I build some boost and let off there's a small psh followed by a stu tu to tu. Noise. It is quieter than before.. it used to do it just everytime I gave it gas just to get going in first. Would a video help From YouTube of me doing it? I am going to take it to work tomorrow to see if the light stays off. I am still going to do vacuum leak and boost test asap I just have to buy the tools and see if I'm working this weekend.
Well just went for another ride. Engine light came back on. Boost is at 5 psi ish. So my next step is vacuum leak and boost test? I will check what code I am getting tomorrow at work.
