Angry P0236 and no fix

Several weekends ago coming home from Coldwater the car started acting up. It wouldn't boost above 5 psi and while traveling a steady speed felt as if the car was surging ever so slightly off and on. No warning lights occured. Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday morning the car drove fine. Tuesday afternoon the Check Engine Light came on so dropped the car off at the dealership. That was on the 8th. They've had the car ever since.

I have not been personally dealing with them (Chris has) but they have said they have replaced everything that they can think of and that they are going to escalate it to a Tier 2. I just want my car back.

Maybe the stage 1 wiring? Map sensors?

Good luck with it.

Lets us know what they find.

Well again, I'm not the one that has been dealing with them but Chris mentioned the ECM, the air flow sensor, something about an actuator, the wiring harness, and the tune itself. Now they are thinking it's the turbo itself.

Sounds like they're shooting in the dark on this deal, is there another dealer or GM tech nearby to take it to for a second opinion and diagnostic checks?

Code 0236 fix

Hello
I had a very similar problem with my 09 HHR SS w/ GM LNF updgrade. Had intermittent boost up to max 5 psi or no boost at all for days. Then several days later the Check Engine light came on. Took to dealer and it was diagnosed with code P0236 and J6370. They replaced the LNF special MAP sensor in the cooler discharge. Workorder lists 2 sensors replaced: PN 12592017 & 55206797.
Good Luck
Thomas

to the forum Thomas, and thanks for the info!

When you get a chance, shoot on over to "Introductions" and tell us a bit about yourself and your SS.

I can understand wanting your vehicle back. I would like to do some research on my end, could you provide me with the case number?
