I'm having the same problem, the SS is in the shop right now. I'm thinking it's probably a crimp going bad. they are wanting to replace the lower t-map.

I'm having the same issues, been to the dealer countless times and they've haven't been able to fix my problem. I have replaced the both tmap sensors, and that only worked for a week. It seems to me that the problem happens more often on my car when it's getting warm outside. Anybody know if there are any other temperature sensors that could be affecting our cars and the turbo systems?

Well IDK if it is the record MI heat or what, but I have this issue now.
was a little sluggish and then 5psi or less boost then nothing.???
The CEL did come on and boost did return some what normal but light still on.
found that is is 0236 code. Can any one tell me whats going on???
My T-MAP sensors have the melted butt connectors, I'm gonna look if one has come un done from the Heat(over 100F deg, lots of A/C, plenty of idling and other HOT conditions. Any other help would be great.???

I had similar intermittant issues and found that I had no clearance for the lower TMAP sensor. Do a search on the issue to get some ideas to fix it. I bought some stuff at the hardware store that will hold the pipe further away from the engine and no issues since.

HillsdaleHHR, did you ever get the problem resolved? If so, what was the solution? Your description of the issue is virtually identical to mine!

In fact, I purchased my HHR SS from tsalva who had all the paperwork with him when I purchased the vehicle, so I felt confident that I was getting a vehicle that was in good working order!

Well, 4 days after I took title, the CEL popped on and I got P0236.

Ok, Mine was setting off 0236 too and would make it "LIMP". I read a few things and went at it. Someone said something about oil on a sensor.?? So i removed upper T-map (well I think thats what it is) and found it covered in oil. Looked down in intake thru hole and more oil.?? Clean it off and went for lower to check wires hitting A/C pump and removed to check for oil. None on that one.
While I was doing that I removed airbox and MAF sensor to check for oil there if was blowing back up intake? It was clean. So at this time I decided to try a CGS intake tube I bought off ebay before I realized they recalled all of them. just to try it. Well as for 0236 I feel that the intake air temp reading on the RPD was much more active and seemed to be reading quicker on air temp after long boost then cool down. Temp seemed to be more accurate.??? So as of right now NO more 0236 but now I have 0101 from I guess the intake tube. I did call CGS to confirm recall and they did say it was setting CEL off. for what codes I don't know for sure. So it's "LIMP" again but No pending or logged 0236 any more right now.??? Any help any one Please!?! I think it does run better with pipe, but can't send Wifey to the gym in the morning with NO BOOST !!!

They ended up replacing the harness on the GMTU but I think they used the wrong programming (there are several tunes depending if you had the brake fix etc.) after they were done and that is what delayed the fix. Back to running normal again.
