possible clutch?

Ever since the new shifter asmbly was installed, it doesnt feel right. I havent given it a wot to play with, til today. 1-2 gear, great. 3-5, around 3000rpm it, is hard to explain. Boost goes max, rpm slowly moves and it doesnt really pick up. Kinda feels like its n/a. Im thinkin either clutch or intercooler. Any other ideas?
Ofcorse its the get 5spd, running on stock ecm file.

I was noticing something similar on my 2.2 5sp. I was in 3 4 5 and noticing that when I tried to give it a little extra gas to initiate a pass on the highway or something, I felt and heard the power going up, but not translating to faster speed... Dealers ruling was clutch... Hope this helps.

If the RPM's are climbing, but the car ain't picking up speed, I would say its a slipping clutch.

Go to a safe location, nothing to hit, then set the handbrake firmly....shift into 3rd or 4th and slowly let out the clutch. If the engine stalls, the clutch is probably OK, but if it doesn't stall, the clutch is on its way out.

This isn't 100% foolproof, but its a quick and dirty way to check a clutch for slipping.

If the rpm's are really slow to build, that also suggests fuel starvation.
