Rough idle, hesitation, 0304
Unsolved Mystery
Ok so here is the latest with my 08 SS. I managed to find a respected and knowledgeable chevy mechanic. He spent several hours diagnosing my mystery machine and came up with nill. Just as the previous mechanics. All he was able to provide me with is a guess. Anyone ever heard of or had problems with the ubec? He thinks there is a voltage drop in the ubec somewhere causing the misfire or hesitation. His diagnostic tools are telling him nothing for sure though. So im really close to selling my baby. Does anyone have anything to add??
Give this thread a read, SS's can also have problems as outlined below....

If memory serves me, the ubec is the under hood fuse box. Maybe we are talking take the 2 halves apart inspect the contacts and reseat the halves.
But since you did not give any details about the malfunction I'm just wildly guessing.
Don't assume that anyone has read ANY of your past postings. Better idea to append new info to an old thread.

IF it's related to this thread, we can merge them together for continuity's sake: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/ss-s...-0304-a-53275/

Yes my post is related to previous post. I'm not fluent in internet forum stuff so a little help will go a long way.
Enough gloom and doom, hope you get your ride sorted right proper soon.
Voltage drop, could be connectors, fuse box halves as suggested, burnt or loose ground wires.
Loose or bent pins at the connectors to the ECM BCM or individual coils and injectors.
Could be a faulty or starting to fail alternator, or battery.
Happy hunting my trick is to mark each connection I've verified with a white Sharpie!
make a list check them one at a time and carefully, with the battery disconnected to avoid short circuits.

Scary
I'm not real sure how to test this area because ive heard of nightmare stories where the whole system was fried (wiring harnesses, ecm, etc) just by touching the wrong wire at the wrong time. Im worried about not being properly grounded and frying the whole thing. I do not know enough about vehicle electronics to tackle this. Also it would probably cost me hours upon hours of labor if i could even find someone with the expertise to handle this. Right?? I just don't know what to do.
First rule of thumb disconnect battery negative ground wire prior to inspecting , disconnecting, and reconnecting harnesses , fuse boxes, relays or other electronics.
Second rule of thumb research any problem until you understand what to do, how to do, the job.
Third know your limitations! And apparently you do, so ask that mechanic to check the aforementioned electrical problem sources.
I wish I was closer to Ohio, I'd be happy to show you how to check these.
