By wrapping it, it wouldn’t even matter if it didn’t stick very well. I think a fiberglass wrap would be bulletproof, but Kevlar is stronger and of course you could go crazy with carbon fiber.

They build 16’ Kevlar canoes that weigh less than 30 pounds. Fiber/resin composites are extremely strong in tension. If cost was no object, all those pipes would have been carbon fiber - lighter, much stronger, and insanely expensive.
