My local NAPA computer won't admit to such a thing as an HHR SS at all!

I have Don, even gave my vin# to one of the places i called (so many cant remember which one!) i have been waiting for Napa to call back, they were checking with my vin for the correct ball joint, just to see if i can just buy it

its tough since some of the sites are using the OEM part number as a reference point, and most will still list it wrong, as FE3 or even FE1! i saw another member awhile back going thru the same thing, his subject was FE5 strikes again, i dont see he got a good answer on his post either

After reading this I can see I wasn't even close... If/when you get the correct PN's could you please post them up. Also could one of the moderators please put the correct numbers in the commonly used parts sticky labeled for the SS versions.

Thanks

GMdealers don't sell just the ball joint, they only sell the LCA.

well after some exhaustive work on this, this is what i have found so far for the whole control arm

GM part number for the FE5 LNF parts
25930724 & 25930725

these are the correct part numbers per GM, but for instance Crate Engine Depot lists them under HHR, BUT they are Cobalt arms! they are aluminum
best price i have found so far is GM Outlet Parts @ $118.00/ea

I have not confirmed yet if the AC Delco arms will fit or not, they are stamped steel instead of aluminum, which typically is for the Cobalt, but another post on this site said they worked!
IF these work then they would be the best price out there at just under $90 on Amazon

45D3595 & 45D3596

So i think i will stick with the Aluminum ones and order them in, but I would be interested to know if the Delco's work. I think we need to do a sticky on this in the SS section for future reference since I am sure there will be more people running into this.

I have a manual and added a prothane lower motor mount to the front. Increased the feel of the engine in the cabin with vibration, but I think it's an improvement because now I know what is going on with the engine. The reason I changed it was due to the banging in the front end over low bumps at 15 to 20 MPH. I had already changed sway bar end links, struts, strut mounts, sway bar bushings, and checked everything else people say causes the problem. Then I thought what if it's the engine bouncing on it's mounts...Seems i might have been right since I reduced the banging by 40 percent just with one mount. I plan on changing the other lower mount and doing the TTR upper mount in the near future.
