ZZP Replacement Couplers install?

While I await the arrival of my new ZZP intercooler and replacement couplers (after the plastic end tank blew on the original) I am proceeding with removing the old parts. I have the bumper cover and original intercooler removed. How do I go about removing the old couplers from the factory charge pipes? They are held on with the plastic retaining rings, but I'm not sure how to go about removing them. For those who have done this before, how did you go about removing the old couplers from the factory charge pipes?

Your original charge pipes should connect right up to the ZZP intercooler. Were the couplers damaged, or is there another reason to replace them?

That is certainly true the new intercooler will connect to the old couplers. However they are 10 year old rubber, so while I have the front end apart I planned to replace them. I’d rather replace them now while I already have it apart than in six months or a year from now wishing I had.
