This is a great tire size calculator. You can see the difference in height circumference and other stats on tires sizes to see how they will fit, and how they will affect your speedo...etc....

There is not a lot of room to go bigger in overall height.....but different combos of sidewall and width can keep you close to stock height.

We ordered the 225x50x17 NEXEN N5000's today.

They'll be delivered next Thursday, on the 13th!

I looked up the specs on my current FALKEN ZIEX 512's and discovered that were actually a very poorly rated quality, only a 360AA rating, with 30,000 miles...

No wonder they always wore out so quick!

The NEXEN N5000's are apparently rated 500AA with 60,000 miles!

BIG difference!

Actually like I said before they wore out even more quickly due to lack of rotating. Please rotate your wheels from here on out.

Sneaky woman...

She called me at work earlier in the day and told me she bought the NEXEN's...

I get home from work tonight and discover that she bought the more expensive Hankook Ventus V2's instead, to surprise me!

LOL.

I'll be paying her back for about 50% of it at some point... She doesn't have a car for herself, doesn't even have her current license and so depends on me for transportation, and more importantly... she's dependent on me to pick her up at work at 12am every night!

I spend more time driving my car for her, then I do for myself... so this is her way of helping to keep up with its maintenance.

Also, yes... we bought the 225/50/17 tires.

We just got an email last night.

They were ALREADY delivered, they arrived late Friday night! They were supposed to take a full week to ship, as it listed 7+ days for site-to-store on tires...

They shipped and arrived within 24 hours!

So we're gonna go get them installed on Monday!

Thumbs up

Nice to look out for each other.. That's a good thing.

Nice tires. I think you'll appreciate a lil more meat on the rims. Those are 25.9" tall, compared to the 215 stockers which are 25.5" tall.. That's .400" taller..

So your speed-O will only be at most, 1/2 mph slower than your actual speed. No-problem-O...

Mine actually made my speed-O read more accurately...

I'm still torn on tire size since I upgraded to a 7.5" rim. I had my heart set on a 225/50 but I thought about going with something wider. A 245/45 is wider but keeps the same overall height as our stockers. Decisions decisions!
