Ugh...talking about snow already...you guys disgust me

I am changing the tires to 205s to replace the 215s with a dedicated snow tire since I have two sets of wheels now. I had a '96 Cavalier with 195s and that thing could do circles around the HHR in winter. I am in WI and the winters are pretty crummy so I appreciate good snow tread.

And I agree with hyperv6. If you can afford winter tread, it can keep you safe and save you a headache. I talked my friend into replacing his worn tires with new rubber this past winter and he was shocked at how much better his car responded when it was slick.

Mine did great ! I only got mine in March ! But then also you got to remember I live in Michigan . So 6 inches of snow was NO BIG DEAL . I only got the 16 inch Firestones on my 2011 and it really did fine in the 2 or 3 snows we had after we got it not a problem .

But then I don't think nothing of driving my Galant with bad tires in the same snow with no problems . Snow is just a fact of life here and NBD to drive in . YMMV of course :O)

Minnesota here agree with the others. FWD, traction contral and ABS and a brain with some common sense are all you need.

I'm sure it's been proven somewhere, there are more 4WD vehicle in the ditch every winter than anything else.

Can't help you with an answer about the performance in snow, here in Carolina when it snows, we huddle together in little groups praying until it goes away.

Dear mwitkowski,

The 2011 model year of the Chevrolet HHR is the last year that this vehicle is being made. According to the information that I have available to me, production for the 2011 HHR was ended in late May of 2011.
