the rear "box" area out of the rear wheel wells

What did it look like before you cut the hole, and why does this work only with non-ABS/traction control HHRs?

The tire sizing will NOT effect your traction control or abs. This is some type of internet myth.

So this and other similar TSBs should be retracted by GM?

And I should discount every vehicle that came in with ABS, ESC and Traction Control complaints/lights on/codes set, that had different size tires/wheels or had gone up to larger tires/wheels.

I guess dealers are wasting their time when we reprogram the ABS/TCS system when we install larger wheels and tires?

I'm not saying an HHR will have a problem, since I have never seen one with different sizes in the front and rear. But I have seen other models have these problems. Modifications, yaw sensors, steering wheel position sensors, speed sensors and wheel speeds sensors all come into play for these conditions to occur.

I don't have a pic of the "box" area before I cut it out but if you look inside your rear wheel wells you will see the area in question very plainly. Once you take off the plastic inner panel you will REALLY see the problem.

As far as the non ABS/Traction Control cars go, I think that is required. I don't profess to know anything about automotive computer systems but I think this mod would cause you grief if you had ABS/Traction Control.

And a different size wheel should effect an abs tone ring and sensor in what effect? Same goes with traction control.

As far as your TSB... that is not the same effect.

Customers may have one or more tires that are different sizes or produced by different manufacturers or have low air pressure sensors that are mounted on the vehicle.
You of course can't run one size on the drivers side, then a different size on the passenger side. Perhaps changing your wheel size from front to rear or may have some effect because front to rear speeds wouldn't be the same. However, changing all around would have NO effect.

Reason why you can't go different sizes from side to side is due is also because you will screw up your trans on the front.

Looks great! I love that stance!

But the front wheels are actually WIDER than the rears??

Do you think this tire on the rear and the stock SS on the front will jack up the sensors? What's your opinion - I took off my goldline levelers as they were just too damn noisey. I would really entertain this size on the rear but definately want your imput.

IF THE FRONT IS 235/45 AND THE REAR IS 225/60, THE FRONT CROSS SECTION SHOULD BE 10 MM WIDER AND THE front tread should also be wider, considerably. 45 vs 60 aspect ratio, so I guess I don't understand.
