Silly question about tires

It´s feasible to increment the tires size from 215/50/R17 to 235/55/R17? I ask this because there is a lot of potholes where I live, and I have replace two tires... Dunno if increasing the side wall can aid.

That size will be too tall Juan, they have an outside diameter of 27.2 inches or 690mm.

Tires over 26 inches tall(660mm), will foul their inner sidewalls on the lower front spring perches.

Here's a link to a nice tire size calculator so you can experiment with widths and aspect ratios.

I would suggest trade for 16" wheels and comfort tires. Often the stiffness of sidewall will help more than the small increase in size you are asking about.
