SPACERS...Safe or not?
Pretty simple reason why Jay, they don't wish to assume the liability in the event of a "wheel off" due to failure on the owner's part in checking the torque on the spacers and wheels.
Wheel spacers are very old tech, and at best a compromise used to install wheels you just "must have" on vehicles where they have no business being.
As long as you're prepared to be diligent in checking torque, accept that your wheel and hub bearings will have shortened lives, and understand the inherent risks involved...use spacers carefully and you'll be OK...get careless and you'll be dealing with expensive repairs or worse.

Well I guess every shop and friend I know being unwilling to touch spacers is enough to convince me id rather be sorry I don't have solstice wheels than sorry later something failed with my daughter in the car regardless of how small the chance. No solstice rims for me :-(
Yeah, it makes me kind of wonder if the spacers and larger rims/tires allows extra stress on the CV joints, etc. If I understand this process correctly, it does move the wheels farther out....even if it is slightly. Even though some have done it.
I know but I just keep hearing from EVERY professional I know that they may not torque down correctly and i would do well by checking periodically. well being a lazy human I'm just not taking chances that something I do because I like the looks may cause harm...I love those wheels

i used deep lugnuts n spacers no problems
