So i went with the Contis, having them put in saturday. I will give a full report once i try them out.

Almost got a killer deal on them So close. So I had the guy put them in the system, tried to get installation charges off etc, not budging. Said he could do $40 off if i bought the tire protection for 22 each. so it would be 40 more in the long run...

So it's not going anywhere, tell him about the price match. Pull the sheet out. Their price is 140, treadepot is 104. He says fine, puts the non shipped price in, but i didn't notice that at first. I also had a $25 off coupon and he said i couldn't combine it with the price match, which is wrong, but then i noticed the price and was just going to let it slide it was at 489 (their full price was 686) out the door. But then he had to get the price match approved. Well the manager caught the missing shipping, so i asked him about the $25 off, of course i can use it.... so $515 in the end. Still not that bad at all and hopefully my wife will be happy.

I'm suffering the tire woes as well...just had the "new" Eagle GT's installed on my 06 HHR 2LT and the tire noise is still there. Kicking myself to say the least! I cursed the Hankook Ventus' that I bought it with and they weren't the problem...The tire dealer went on to explain that it was just the nature of the tread design and...then it was blah, blah, blah...Anyway, is this indicative of the tire design or just the HHR being an HHR w/ exception to the noise above 35 mph? Thought's suggestions, anything?

take care

Good choice on the Contis, I went with the Goodyear TripleTreads. I have driven over 32,000 miles on them so far. They do great in wet weather and have far superior traction in the winter over the original tires. They have a stiffer side wall – so handling of my HHR has greatly improved. I did sacrifice a little on ride due to the side wall stiffness, but I still rather have the improved handling. Recently on a long trip I did notice that the tires were putting out a little more road noise. I half way expected that as they wear – You have to take the good with the bad.

Just reviving a dead thread for a moment. I submitted a $50 rebate to Discount tire and it actually came today. I was a bit skeptical because it was for instock tires and they had to order mine. But it still went through. So $50 in my pocket and a smile on my face. All in all i came out really good on these. After selling my other tires it was around $350...

Yeah, I really like them. They made it through the winter with flying colors including a crazy storm where the roads were literally 1/2" or more of solid ice. They perform in wet really good, dry traction is good. I haven't really found anny problems with the yet. A bit quieter then the OEMs as well.
