I am running the stock 205-50-17 tires on my HHR. I was thinking of trying a 55 series tire to possibly get a smoother ride. Has anyone tried this?
How did it work out? What size tire did you run? I want to get as close as possible to the tire diameter that I have now.

I just realized my current tire size is 215-50-17. How would a 205-55-17 work?

Your sidewall height would grow from 4.23" to 4.43". You probably wouldn't feel and differance.

Your speedo would also be off about 1.59%, so it would be a little slow, but not anough to matter.

 

I have seen some people run a 225/50/17 it is a wider tire and a taller tire.
