What Brand Of New Tires Should I Buy ???
I found this, maybe it explains:
Need confirmation from those who knows for sure...... ??? - Motor Trend Tire Rack Tire & Wheel Forum
Evidently it's the "S4" designation.

Also that sets a high base for Warranty claims to cover their You Know What.
I would say it is a set up by the Car and/or the Tire Mfgr's so they can't lose on OE warranty failures.
I see no way the S4 could be worth and extra $100.
I bet the dealers do not tell the customers that they actually have a choice and the differences in the tires and the price.

According to this if I went from 55 to 60 the speedo would read roughly 2.5 MPH slower than normal... Would this have any bearing on the Odometer and actual mileage accrued???? OVERTHINKING IS A HOBBY OF MINE

Do the math and you'll find that adds about 1,000 miles to the odo over life. In actual practice I don't notice much, in fact after 30,000 miles the speedo is accurate again; I just had to remember the overflow for radar traps. VA looks for 10 MPH above posted.
If it really bothers you, you can have the tire placard in the computer changed via a Tech2 or similar tool.
