Been skimming through this thread. Is this something I should buy? I have 78,000 miles now and on a previous thread, I was saying that my SS does not feel "fast" or as it did when I had the upgrade installed. Sometimes it feels as if it bogs down under hard accel........anyway this was all posted in the HHR SS area of this forum https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/hhr-ss-45/may-sound-dumb-but-40021/

When I replaced mine the old one looked ok, but the forge works way better. I ordered the extra springs, went to the 75% stiffer one no lag with trifecta, but kept throwing p2261, so I put the yellow back in, still small lag with trifecta, but perfect with stg-1. If I were you I'd order one it comes with two springs one should work perfect for you.

So you didn't need the extra spring set? The BPV comes with yellow and green. If I understand BPV correctly, the vacuum on the the intake side after the throttle plate is what works against the spring to open the valve. There may be no instance using the stock turbo that more than the yellow is actually needed. But since I'm HPTuned you should send me the blue spring for testing just in case.

I will have to talk with Vince first, it ran better with the blue, but was throwing a code, don't know what the answer is yet. The kit came with a stiffer one yet, red. I might have to send them to you.

Got my valve in. Looks and feels way better than the stock valve. So far so good no problems. I did notice it is more quiet with the air lid on, but with the air lid off it sounds a whole lot better than stock. It does change the sound but in a good way.

Finally after listening to what everyone had to say, I finally got around to ordering the valve and SS 710 cap, cap looks awesome
The valve, the shifts are smoother, no arguments under the hood now that the BOV sheriff is in control, thats the best I can describe it.

Thanks for working out all the bug

Don't worry about it. It is so easy to change springs anytime. Just start with the lowest (green) and work up as needed. You may never need a stiffer one than the lowest. I get occasional turbo flutter with the next one up (yellow) than the lightest.
