I might have to wait till my wife and I get moved to North Carolina. I am about to be Jobless so I probably shouldnt be blowing money. Thats what happens when your married to the military. Hopefully jobs arn't as scarces as here in Michigan though! My stage 1 kit needs some changes!

Any short ram-style intake that has an open filter element in the engine bay without substantial heat shielding will see intake temperatures in excess of 130* on a warm engine when you stop at a redlight, and that's not even in the summer. I've been doing some research using my aeroforce and various intake designs, and I've moved the filter all over the engine bay. THe current location (best one so far) sees intake temperatures 7-12* above ambient when cruising, and it's getting far more airflow than the one from SS. I would strongly suggest waiting for a proper CAI before doing anything but the stock airbox setup, because even after all my experimentation, I still see very high intake temps the moment I get below 40mph or so.
