No such thing as learn down.
We have a torque based ECM.
The stock limit is 260, ECM won't let you have more than 260.
LOWER in 1st with an automatic...........
GM tune limit is I think, 320 foot pounds.

BINGO....
I'm thinking that there is a lower limit for 1-2 shift on automatic, with the GM tune.......
When I get home next week, I'll look into it with HPTuner, but I'm
Sure it's there to help protect the automatic.

Hi gang,

If any of you are in SE Michigan, can you recommend a dealer with techs that have experience with the turbo upgrade?

At $90/hr. I want to make damn sure I find a dealer that has experience troubleshooting and actually fixing the VERY frustrating issues I've been having with the turbo.

Much appreciated!

Thanks!

Depending on the day, it seems like the car has a brain of its' own and decides it will either boost normally to ~23-24 PSI or it will not boost past 5 PSI. Very frustrating.

And this is after my dealership replaced the mass air flow sensor under the powertrain warranty. It is no longer under warranty and I am still having these issues.

As far as I know only Chevy has the download for the reflash. HP is different I don't think you even need any extra sensors amd stuff for the HP tune just that red box of theirs and plug it into the OBDII port. And as far as warrantys go I have a 4 year 50K bumper to bumper extended warranty so I kinda have to go with the GMTU. But oh well we will see in a few hours how it goes apparently the tech has done a few GMTU installs so I hope he knows what he's doing.

Yes, HPTuners can do it. From what I understand, using the stock tune modified to GMTU specs works better than the actual GMTU tune. You just need to install the 3 bar sensors.

On the stick shift, yes..
I tried it with the auto, & fuel trims were fricking out, not stable, at all.
There's a 'safety' feature, a table that we can't see, on the autos...
