Welcome aboard extreme ss.

Foxtrotraptor Congrats on the new tune.
I see u have an ss auto.
If I am driving along with mine say cruising along down the highway at 60 and put it to the floor I only see 15-16 psi.
If I let off and let the car see vacuum over 10 " the floor it I see 22 plus.
Does yours have that problem.
I have had others say this is normal and one tuner say that the GM tune is causing this
I am starting to think I need to bring mine back in.
Guessing this issue will be very hard to find for them.

Hmmm well I havnt tried that yet. But I'm gonna be running some errands in a bit. I'll have to take the freeway. I'll try it how you said and see if I can produce the same results. I'll let you know in a few hours

ok bigjacksauto i am back from the freeway. I tried out what you said and my ride did EXACTLY the same thing. At 60mph and floor it I get 15/16 PSI, after that I let off the throttle for a sec and go again and I get 20+. So idk i guess that's normal. Doesn't bother me I still feel the power I don't think this is a "problem" in terms of it being a defect or anything, I think this is just how the tune works. Of course I have only had this tune for 2 days now so i cant say for sure....so it looks like we are on the same boat.

That is not how it is supposed to work. My 08 SS Auto after many trips to the dealer, to fix that same issue plus intermittent loss of boost runs like a champion. Instant (sans turbo lag) response when ever I go WOT. id bet money you have an electrical issue with your new connections. Spliced, plugs or soldered? it was not until mine were soldered did the uncertainty of my SS performance went away.

Actually I have the new quick connect harnesses. Is this boost number thing really a problem? I mean I only ask because before Id never see over 10PSI and now with the upgrade I see 15PSI and 20 to 22 when I step on it. Sounds like its working to me, but I am no expert this is just my opinion. I wouldn't even know how to approach the dealer about this if this is a issue

Update on this. I did the same thing as before on the freeway. I was driving on the freeway and was doing 60mph then when I step on it I get 15 psi then I let go of the gas then step on it again and I get over 20 psi. I have a aeroforce interceptor scan gauge and I set it for "current gear" and I noticed that on the 1st time at 60mph the trans stays on 4th gear when i step on it, but on the 2nd time I step on it and get over 20psi the trans downshifts to 3rd then 4th gear again. Maybe this is why we see the different boost levels?

Hello

So the 5 speed is gone .
With the GMTU And a big free flowing air filter sitting just under the hole for the scoop on the 5 speed , i was boosting 23- 28 every day . but it would stop boosting that high and boost too 14 psi , GMTU off .
I'd check scan gauges, And it would show no faults.
I'd go to clear codes , Hit clear , And it would boost to 23-28 for about 3 pulls , Then back to14 ish .

Tom at crate engine depot said i needed the new connectors , And that the computer was sensing a fault in the connection . Tom said you don't have the old connectors , Because we cut them off , And that replacment connectors where over $ 300.00.
So to make the GMTU work correctly , I had to buy the connectors the dealer threw away during the initial instalation. This sounds so retarted , That i am going to call tom tommarow to verify that , That is what he said .
If he says yes , Then i feel there should be a recall on the original GMTU . And i will try to find every one that had to move there intercooler , Or what ever.
I want to take the new 2 me SS too rockenbach , And have them check the GMTU, but dam. Replace the conectores we removed. I'm rolling on the ground LOL over here.
And it was'nt just tom , It was the guy that desighed the GMTU , someone on here knows his name , I don't remember it. He's been at C.E.D. show for a few years now.

Read this again, Please

I can make it rite , But i need you to pay for those pcs that i did'nt think we needed. LOL !

I have the new style plug and play adapters from CED. My GMTU hasn't worked at all. I verified the correct cal is in the ECU. So now its either a lazy TMAP or one of the adapters is not making a good connection. If I get a chance after work I'm going to take the adapters off and then ohm them out. If that all checks out then I'll be pretty sure its a TMAP.

Hmm, then idk what to say. Seems like every GMTU is different some people have problems some dont. Perhaps the new repair manual that's coming out soon will have some info on this? Does anyone know if there Is any type of documentation that explains exactly what we are suppose to see when this works? And what we may see when it doesn't work?

The 2 times that it worked the way it was designed, I saw 28psi in all 5 gears. Gauge showed 26, logger showed 28. I'm believing the logger since its direct to the ALDL.
