Opinions On Trifecta
American & Proud - the shop i was going to go to uses HP tuners, its still pretty $$$
MOON and KissMy08SS - how much did you guys pay for the tune, it says on the site there is a 200$ special if you have light mods (which i do) what kind of PSI would i run? im at 18 now. since i have the DP with a Cutout, how will that effect the tune? so the the tune just turns on and off? does your cruise control still work?

I paid around $300 for my custom tune (plus a $200 deposit for the interface cable). If you go with the $200 "budget tune" it's basically a "canned" tune. Nothing special...probably comparable to the GMS1. I can't really speak though...since I don't have it. So as far as boost psi....I have no idea what the budget tune offers. Your best bet is to email Vince and ask him about it.
And yes, your cruise and everything works like normal with the Trifecta and you can turn the tune on and off.
My GMS1 tune is putting out 24 lbs of boost and my Trifecta tune is putting out 27 lbs...BUT...it will vary...depending on where your located (sea level, elevation and all of that)
If I hammer the gas at 40 mph...it'll burn the tires pretty easy....that kinda gives you an idea of the power of Trifecta

how much better is the real tune compared to the budget one? for 300$ it might just be worth it. you havnt had any problems with that much boost? thats a lot of PSI. ill email Vince, whats your name so i can say you recommended trifecta to him
Plus....you can also datalog your car...so he can see exactly what your car is doing and can change anything in your tune if something is "off" or needs "tweaked". My name is Shawn Nelson, he'll know who I am...I've been working with him on my tune for over 3 months now.
BTW..I've never had any problem with running 27 lbs. My car ran perfect for the first month I had it (with the GMS1 & Trifecta Tune)...then all of the sudden..one day it went down...and it's never been the same. Noone can explain it. Not even Vince.
Well...if the budget tune is comparable to the GMS1...it's "okay". But for another $100......the custom Trifecta Tune puts it to shame....VERY noticable difference between the two.

I've had the Trifecta for as long as I've had the GMS1. Something went wrong with the car (pretty sure it's the GMS1...either the wiring or the tune itself). If something goes wrong with the GMS1...then it also affects the Trifecta Tune.
Anyhow, Datalogging-
You basically plug your laptop into your car and choose "datalog" in the Trifecta program. Once you start this process...it records all of your engines data...as far as sensors and diagnostics. I usually go out on the interstate and give it hell at different speeds. Do a couple WOT runs with the Trifecta Tune engaged. Then, once your done, you save your datalog and send it to Vince through an email. He then goes over it and see's everything your car is doing. If something needs changed...he will then change it and send you the update. Then you load it on the car and see how it runs and then do another datalog.
You basically do that as many times as Vince says. Once he gets it "fine tuned" you'll be good to go.

Before I started to have my "problem" my MPG was 24mpg. But since we've been trying to figure out the problem....I've done a TON of datalogging for Vince....so I've had to go out and give it lots of hell....which makes the MPG to drop a bit.
MPG? Whats that?[Go pedal down].
Seriously, with Trifecta, I picked up a couple MPG in cruise[mostly 80MPH]. I've seen 32 MPG, in cruise control on highway. Around town...don't ask. Around town I'm always legging it, every chance I get[It's major habit forming]. Town: driving somewhat sane, around mid twenties. Had trifecta tune for couple years, and it's still major fun. "Moon"
