Seafoam ok ?
I have this habit of dumping a can of seafoam in my gas tank every couple of months with my vehicles. This is my first car with direct injection and was wondering if it was ok to do this. I read the owners manual and it reccomends using some GM injector cleaner. Which is probably not readily available.

OK if it makes you feel good.
The 2008 manual suggests using TOP TIER fuel that has injector cleaner in it. Most brands are TOP TIER these days including Costco. I don't see anything about adding cleaners.

A lot of people swear by Seafoam, but in reality it is about 60% pale oil.
If you are so inclined, probably an easier and more fruitful regimen would be to use a tankful of Chevron gasoline once in a while.
It contains probably one of the most popular injector cleaners Techron.

As to cleaners, I was a big fan of Seafoam too, but knowing it can't clean DI systems as well, I switched to a better value product: Berryman B-12 Chemtool
Berryman B-12 Chemtool.
Bought by the case, it is less than $4 a can. I add a can every 5 tanks or so to in the SS and a smaller amount to all of my gas-powered devices occasionally.
It absolutely keeps the injectors clean and on some vehicles, that is noticeable. Made a huge difference in my gas-powered golf cart.
