Trifecta Tuning Discussion 2.0 SS
The Trifecia tune, that Vince worked up for me [2.0/SS], is controled by the cruise control button. With C/C button Off, I have the tune, push the C/C button to On, I'm back to my stock tune.
I still have my full suite of T/C options, with this setup.
Footnote: Glad I set it up this way, because with the tune On, and I switch the T/C off, or go into competition Mode, it's hang onto you butt, cause it will definately light up the tires, big time. It lights them up anyway, at anything under 45mph, with T/C on.
My recommendation to anyone doing the Trifeia tune, is to use the cruise control button, to turn the tune off/on. "Moon"

Around town with the Cruise button off, you have the Trifecta Tune active or "ON" to go, go, go.
What Tom said.
I have full use of my Cruise control, and have the choice of Hauling some serious a--, or stock tune, and switching T/C, comp mode off or on ,as I see fit.
Push the C/C button to on and "Houston we have liftoff". "Moon"

I'm not 100% sure of that Bart
. I've tested the car and paid attention to the boost gauge and when not in Competition Mode boost typically won't go over 15 lbs in 1st or 2nd gear (remember I'm in an auto SS). Turn Comp. Mode on and I'll see boost go right to 23-25 lbs and light the tires in 1st and 2nd gear, then she'll just squat the rear and SCOOT.
Again, that's been my experience so far, but that's why I asked the question here.
Moon, I totally agree with the idea of using the T/C button to turn the Trifecta tune on/off. That way the extra hp/tq would be welcome when you want to use it "at will".
I'm looking forward to seeing what my options will be once all is said + done.

Well, I'm hot off the dyno with my Trifecta tune installed and with my tun off I put down 277WHP and 270TQ BUT when I hit that button it was a whole different story @ 28 pounds of boost I was at 315WHP and 388TQ.

277WHP is with the GMPP tubro upgrade?? Automatic or 5 speed?
Tom, I have read through this entire thread and still can't tell if there is ANY advantage to having the the GM (stage) tune prior to getting the Trifecta tune?
If not, why does GM feel that the new sensors are necessary?
Also, sounds like power adders like exhaust or IC/piping really don't make a difference in power output? Am I missing something?
