The Trifecta tune still costs $200.00 working om my loaner cord special. $250.00 with the shippable tuner.

i thought this thread was about the superchips option? that is a cheap price for the trifecta tune though.

i like being able to tweak the tune, flash it back to stock, use the max mpg tune and so on any time i like.

I'd rather not see vendors advertising in threads about competitor's products.

I was pleased to read that someone broke away from the GM stage deal and tried the cortex. I'll be very interested in the final results. I'm totally new with this HHR deal as I only have 100mi. on a '09 SS panel, but, the cortex is on my list after I get this thing aged a bit. Hey, what's this stuff about "brake start" problems. Again, I'm totally new,but not new to cars in general.

It doesn't matter about if you can flash back to stock because the dealer can still notice the flash. Sad but true. Why not get the GM tune along with better 3 bar map sensors needed for better upgrade?

OH Well, I am not sure what I am going to do right now.........
You have to understand what comes with the kit. If you're not going to other mods any tuner will work but your best bet for future mods will be the GM Kit.

they have to dig to notice a change in the ECU software i do believe, not just with their basic OBDII plug in.

I drove the Stage 1 and would rather put my money towards an aftermarket tune

your talking about future upgrades, those will void your drivetrain warranty just as much, since I don't expect GM to put anything else out.

Instead of talking about boost or how it feels with the chip i'd like to see the numbers hp and whp, if only for comparsion to what the stage 1 gets.

Okay, mail me $100 in cash and i will run out and dyno for you ASAP and post up the results. or you can go to superchips.com and read up on it there and they have already dyno'ed the car before and after and post up what gains you get at the wheels.

also, it increases the speed and the firmness of the shifts, increases the redline and that makes almost as much of a difference in performance as the power increase does. that was another big + that swayed me in the direction of the cortex tuner. it also comes with a 2 year powertrain warranty as well. You would not believe how nice the transmission shifts now, it is like a different transmission. it is really fast and smooth.

you also get the advanced tune ( where you can adjust things how you like) and an economy tune for max mpg.

it has some really cool features on the tuner that datalogs performance data as well.
Your friend has a dyno shop and you have stated moneys no object so why do you need my $100, I've dyno'd mine thru all my changes and interested in your numbers, went to superchip and no where did I find there reported numbers on an HHR SS and besides I'd like to know what a real forum HHR SS stats are, and as someone that has a stage 1 I can tell you that I've had none of the problem that you've stated. So please show us some numbers.
