Hello all, I've been on the forums for a year now and love all the good tips I've picked up from it. I own a 2011 panel and want to install an airaid intake, can anyone who has had it installed for a while please advise me if any issues have come up with it since the install. I would also like to paint the exterior of the box and the filter tube any issues I should take caution of prior to painting such as the slot for the MAS sensor and the inside of the tube? Thanks.

I went with the CGS intake and love the throaty sound it has. I've had a lot of people think it's the exhaust sound, which is still factory. I saw this thread on here about the differences:

I installed an airaid intake to my 2011 LT panel the other day. The outside temperature hit about 82 degrees, my engine started rattling like a diesel enough to make me worried. When I got home I opened my hood and the box itself was hot as well as the intake tube. I had installed some heat shield on the underside of the box to help block out some of the engine heat. It seems it didn't help, I couldn't find any help here on the forums so I swapped it out for the original air cleaner box. Is it possible that the intake was forcing hot air into my engine causing it to rattle like it did? Can anyone offer any advice.

With my modded stock air filter with an K&N filter when driving with the outside temp 100o my 2 1/2 pipes getting cold air from above the radiator the pipes are cold to mthe touch not hot from the engine and a big increase in performance I love it. and not much money.
