Spectre Intakes???
Well scratch that plan. Im gunna spend the extra money on the injen intake. I cracked open one of the packages in the store. Seemed to good to be true. Well it is. They were a very cheap feeling plactic tube. I didnt like that. So im gunna pass it by and spend the extra money on an injen.
My OPINION, based on a little common sense.
If you are searching for a change in the appearance of under hood display, Spectre would probably be OK.
If you are attempting to increase, as small as it may be, performance....I doubt if I would go in the Spectre direction. You have no guarantee, or for that matter, any RELIABLE data to display ANY increase in performance/economy. BUTT DYNOs are HIGHLY UNRELIABLE.
Considering this, if I was looking for performance/economy I would look at a "packaged" kit that has tested and stated a recognized gain. But understand the gains are VERY slight and have been proven by almost every auto manufacturer.
For example, I know GM has tested several of the aftermarket brands of intakes and filters.....some good some bad, with some actually decreasing HP by a few. I have the GMPP intake, with dynos on my car as well as 10 other cars I have seen, display a MINOR increase of an average of 3.5 HP. My opinion again, but the cost of the GMPP does not warrant the increase. My GMPP was free however, so it remains on my car.
Again, JMO...your car, do as you wish.

Thanks snoopy. Not looking for major gains as I know you will not get them. Really it's for appearance more than anything. I just didn't like the quality of the tubing from spectre. To me it's worth a little more to pay for something a little nicer. Injen has dyno'd there intake on the mazda and recorded 8hp gains. Again that would hardly be noticeable when driving. But hp is not the reason for buying.
