I went to the dealer on Monday and had the traction control problem checked.I had 2 codes in the computer that said it was running too rich which according to the tech, said it could cause the traction control light to come on.As soon as he say the cold air system he asked if I played with any wires when I installed it.I said no just the sensor plugged into the air duct and the small rubber hose to the engine. He took the codes out of the computer and told me to try it and see if the codes reappear it hasn`t yet.I hope this solves the problem.I had no problems with the dealer refusing to work on my car.I`ll keep in touch if something comes up.The Canuk!

I bought it from my local speedshop, they got it from Keystone ,I think it`s the place that CANADIAN TIRE orders from for high performance parts. They have the catalogs in the store.

Does the K&N CAI include the filter, or is that extra?

HHRyup,

Boy do we have a lot in common. ( I have a thread about this in the Problems/Services issues section). I used to get the T/C light whenever I did a burnout. Then, it started coming on while just plain driving, and even when stopped at a light. Shutting the engine off then restarting it makes the light go out. But every once in a while, I also get the picture of the engine, which means service engine soon. And that light stays on for a while.

I have the CGS intake which I installed last June. No problem. Some time around February, I began getting the T/C light, along with the hard shifting. I had the car checked for codes by the dealer and got MAF problem, but was skeptical about it. I tried cleaning my MAF sensor without any luck. Next, I took the car back to the shop that modified my computer. They set it back to stock, and I still got the code. They checked the car and found a MAP code and suggested I replace it. Since it costs almost $100, I wanted to be sure so I took the car to a different Chevy dealer. They also got the MAP code, along with 2 for the oxygen sensor which they said could be caused by the MAP. Finally, I felt secure and changed the MAP sensor (purchased for dealer cost of $68). Guess what-still have the T/C light problem. My next idea-my car was hit last January on the right rear wheel. I want to have the dealer check the traction control sensor on that wheel. If it is bad, it could throw the T/C code as well as any type of errant code, due to a bad ground or something.

Well here we go again. The traction control light has lit up again ,I have had the codes taken out about once a month for the last 2 or 3 months. It always lights up when I am at idle on a corner or waiting for a light, never at highway speed or even city speed. It`s getting to be a real pain in the butt.Does anyone else still have the same problem,it must have something to do with the K&N cold air.I wrote K&N and they say no way???

Where the tube goes into the collection box......there is a air "gap" around the tube. You by any chance didn't seal that off, did you?

Sounds like, ultimately, the computer is reacting to low air volumn, if it only happens at idle.
