Another thought is to have the shop put another quarter wave tunner to cancel out the 3000 rpm drone and then it would sound good the whole time with no drone. And since it's at a higher rpm it would require a smaller pipe.

What do you think.

Sounds like a lot of trouble to go to.
I would say, take off that "Dynodrone" and try another muffler. It's obvious that the Dynomax is the cause of the problem.
Not really understanding the need to keep that muffler unless you just have to have that particular one.
Keep adding pipes and tuners under there and it's gonna be a mess.

Yeah and after doing a full day of driving today the drone is still there all over but not as much in the 2500 rpm do to the 1/4 tuner, but what muffler? Has anyone with a non turbo hhr 2.4l used any without any drone, if so which ones?

No my 2.4 came with a auto SS muffler and tip, it sounds awesome so I left it alone.

But that SS sounds like a growly monster........
