2.4 then right? Did you change both chains? The actuators or some call them phasers? Did you replace the VVT solenoids?
if so, what brand? Sometimes offshore parts don’t work like known good parts.

What about those VVT phasers? Did you replace them?

https://zzperformance.com/products/cam-phasers

and which part numbers for those actuator solenoids?

Here’s a how to , not to second guess but to ensure that’s how you put things together

Have a close look at the assembly procedures

One more question, did you reuse the old cam and crankshaft bolts?

Hmm. You do realize this site is for the Chevy HHR ?
Your post says Equinox. Your bio shows Tahoe. The engines may be similar but the cars are different regarding wiring and OBD monitoring.(you state timing belt. HHR's have a timing chain.)
You would be better off searching the Equinox or Tahoe forums.

Now FMG , the 2.4 in a 2010 Equinox has the same VVT and timing chain as the HHR , their 2.4 switched to DI in 2012. In this case, I need a couple of questions answered. Maybe some of our folks have knowledge that will help. The Equinox site is mostly about 2012 and up engine problems like coked valves and things.
Maybe he has 2 or 3 cars.
