There is nothing fishy, it's a 2.4. I watched the show also.

Sorry for the confusion; Darkside's HHR does have a 2.4L in it - HOWEVER: the car will not run with boost. Under normal driving conditions it runs fine, but once you hit the boost zone error mssgs pop up and the ECU cuts back to "reduced power." There is still no reflash completed for this setup (STS), yet.

Please keep in mind that these are "show cars" - not daily drivers.

While I agree with your last statement regarding showcars, are you absolutely sure about the statement regarding "running under normal conditions" etc. Or is that an opinion? Not picking a fight...just wondering!!!

If they are running a 2.4 and got ~200 hp out of it with a turbo, what's the point besides to say I gots me a turbo? Wonder how close to 200 a person could get normally aspirated?

No problem. The last time I spoke with Erich from Darkside he told me it was "on the car but not hooked up." Did you notice the line running from the fuel rail to the intake tube? That's gonna take some ECU calibration before it will all work out right.

Still no HHR specific kit released from STS either - despite lots of prodding (I've called/emailed them for a year now.) We will just have to see what becomes of it.

The Solstice turbo motor is looking like more of a sure bet though....

Chevy lists the HP on the 2007 at 175. Add a CGS intake, outlaw air filter, and IMCO muffler and you get about 15 more horses, (Mike, correct me if I am wrong) making for a total of 190. Not sure what the Autolite plugs add, but they sure make it faster. And once the Tune electronics is perfected, that should be good for over 200 ponies

But for everybody concerened with acceleration-keep in mind the cheapest way to make a car faster is to put it on a diet. That means no gigantic sub boxes, no huge wheels, etc. Eventually, fiberglass hoods will be out there, which will save some pounds.

Gotcha, Mike....Thanks. Also, noticed the braided fuel lead, was wondering about that. Again, Thanks.
