in the end, how much power and torque can an HHR take without torque steer becoming a serious issue?

Hey...really good question....
Other than the cooling issue that GM is having on the "SS", this could be another area they are addressing. IF they are using the GXP engine "as-is", then 260 hp with almost the same torque, would probably give plenty of torque steer.

Just use the same LSD that is in the GXP Solstice. Any FWD with lots of power will torque steer, its impossible to erase 100%. The only way to somewhat balance it is to make the halfshafts equal length.

I don't know if I got lucky with my HHR but I already have lots of torque steer on top of the fact that I can't even jump on it without that damn traction thing displaying on the DIC.

Off topic but is there any way to disable traction control?

The Solstice is RWD not FWD. There is no way to use a rear differential in a FWD setup.

Precisely. It'll be interesting to see what the final HP numbers are gonna be. Even modifiying up to 400 seems out of the question with a car like the HHR. That would be like riding a bull trying to steer, would it not?
