Anyone adding colored interior lights?
#14
I hate to resurrect an old post, but I would like to add some LEDs under the dash and can't find anyone that has completed this job. OR will share where they tapped into for power.
I was hoping to tap into the power used for the overhead light in the rearview mirror, so that the lights would dim on a delay, just as the rearview mirror does.. I spent a little time this past weekend trying to track down the wires and found it odd the the power to the rearview light is constant. So is there something within the mirror that has a timed delay? I also tried to see if I could connect into the wiring used for the door pins..
Anyway, i got nowhere, so i'm back to square one and looking for help...
Thanks in advance.

I was checking with the door open and closed.. just to see if the circuit would close with the door pin.
I did a bit more digging and I think I found what I needed in this post.

going to have a try at it this weekend.

Well I gave this a try over the weekend. I tapped into the power source for the rear view mirror dome lights (that fade) and tapped into what I thought was the door pin. Unfortunately the lights stayed on constantly.. Back to the drawing board...
Today I decided to check in on those young-ings over on the Cobalt site and here is what I found:

Also appears I may need one of these:

think I'll give this a shot this weekend (weather permitting).
