What if you refuse to tell the police what shop you got your tint at? Around here all shops will tint your front windows but they tell you straight up any tint on your front windows is illegal so if you want to risk it it's your call. It has the tint laws for NY and flat out says any tint on the front windows is illegal on my receipt so the shop can't be held liable.

That's why the shop that did my tint job wouldn't give me a reciept for tinting the windshield. I think they call it "CYA"!

My tint job is done, and the shop said I was illegal. As GDZHHR said, missouri law is 35%, and mine is about 20%. After getting the work done, I was driving home with the late day sun right beside me. No heat at all, couldn't feel it a bit. I rolled my window down and instant heat. This is the first time I have ever had tinted windows and I love it. I understand why the law doesn't allow dark tint, but 20% is not that dark, yet makes a huge difference to the driver, and you can still see in well enough to know if someone is holding a gun to the window. my
