fixed the speakers

Found this forum when my buddy's 2006 HHR had only tweeter noise. I thought, there must be a wiring or fuse issue if ALL the speakers except the tweeters are blown, right? Wrong. Took the front doors apart and pieces of speaker cone are falling on the ground. They are TRASHED. I fixed them up with 2 pioneer 6-1/2" universals and blade wire terminals. The stock are custom fit speakers in a custom GM molding but with a hack saw I was able to convert the OE speakers into adapters. I used some foam double-sided tape between the new speaker and the hole I made after removing the spokes, drilled holes to screw it on. Sounded great for a base model when done. The rear speakers are next.
