Not a dumb question. Unhooking the rears will not give more power to the others. The aftermarket HU will help because the power of a factory is usually only 5-10 watts at most. Aftermarket units usually put out 15-20 watts rms.The ohm rating really shouldnt matter if your just replacing door speakers.
