First post. Just bought a beautiful 2009 HHR one owner a senior woman.
I've done alot of work but currently having trouble wiring subs. I didn't want to remove the head unit only to see no RCA for my subwoofers to amp.
There's a thread about using the passenger side to tap in add speaker wire and run that to your amp instead. But that will only run 1 subwoofer. I have 2.
So I'm guessing a need a radio with rca outputs but also that matches the wiring harness already in place ?? 🤔 for my speakers. Don't care about door chime on star or anything else.
Just want to run my speakers and subs
Whats the easiest way to do that . New radio with RCA and matching hookups. Buy the GM amp addition kit and keep my original stereo, or is there another way to run my subwoofers so they both get signal. Not like the way that Aftermarket install tells you to go down the passenger side. Every panel inside is unclipped wires are exposed for action

If you have not messed with a stereo in a car made this century you need to do some studying before burning the car down.
I bet you already have an amp and sub woofer from the factory, if UQ3 appears on the glovebox label you do.
What exactly would be the problem with splicing into wires and adding RCAs? Or, eliminating the RCAs and splicing wires?
What is the surprising part of no RCAs on the back of a stock radio?
As Oldblue notes there are adapters available to eliminate installer error and chopping wires. Crutchfield.com has lots of free information.
Do you have a grille with a speaker behind it in the cargo bay? If you do, you have the Pioneer Premium speaker upgrade. There’s an amp behind the subwoofer that also powers the upgraded door speakers.
Don’t be cutting wires until you better understand the system.
It doesn’t matter have many subwoofers you have, all you need is one channel. The low registers aren’t very directional and multiple channels are pointless.
