I'm not sure how much the impedance would change. If you're leaving in the factory tweeters, then cutting the tweeter wire on the coaxial unit should compensate for this setup. Nice thing is you can try it and re-connect if you don't like the result.

I buy the hats from Crutchfield and cut them in half. I found the full hat deadened the bass.
