XM radio

Apparently the radio on the 2008 HHR 2LT is XM ready or compatible but not included standard in that year and model. has anyone had any luck in getting XM installed permanently without being gouged by the dealer for labor and equipment? the last i checked the receiver unit with installation was going to be at least 250.00. Is there already and antenna in place on most HHRs? Can it be used? Is it easy to access? I guess I am looking for any advice or stories you might have, success or otherwise in using your factory unit with an XM receiver. Currently i have a 6 or 7 year old Audiovox which can be quite cumbersome form time to time.
Let me know
Thanks

Here's a link to an older thread on adding XM to a non-equipped HHR, if you don't have OnStar you will have to drill a 3/4"(approx)hole in the roof to fit the antenna, hope this answers some of your questions. It is fairly labor intensive, but now something beyond the abilities of most people.
