Exactly, and I honestly can't think of why you'd need either type on a street car, especially once you see the prices....wow!

"Floating Rotors" are quite different, they are actually a 2 piece floating rotor...That is bolted together thru islolators to allow the friction surface to align as needed..

But this mod I can see doing should the need arise....
I stand corrected, but I've always heard rotors that were not attached to the hubs were "floating" rotors.... Guess sometimes terminalogy gets confusing....

But, we agree that the rotors are not hub centric....

Well the stock rotors do locate off the hubs & lug-studs, so they are considered hub-centric.

IDK about the SS rotors on our rides ? Is that hole bigger ?

Still even if it is, with lug-studs locating it, & torquing on the wheel, should be no problemo.......

To resurrect a thread for a moment, did anyone else here do this? I'm looking at replacing my once again pulsing rotors, and am thinking about going this route and putting the larger SS rotors on this time.

hey there voigtsa, I converted my HHR 2LT to HHR SS brembos which are a lot bigger, all u need is the brembo calipers and i used wheel spacers for clearance for the calipers, you need at least 17 inch wheels

Have you got a link to the Brembos? I'm curious what size they are. I just bought a pair of rotors from Advance that are the same size as what the OP mentioned (11.65"/296mm), and was looking to buy the same calipers that he mentioned. He said he got his in the stock 16" wheels, and I wanted to try to confirm this before I go buying the caliper brackets.

I was about to, when I put the Brembo's on the SS, but a quick measurement of the rotor said they were the same size already, not sure how that is.... on my 2LT panel, but they stop great.
