Cryogenically treated rotors
Humm, cryogenically frozen rotors sound like the same kind of snake oil as oxygen free copper wire the audiofools use in their stereo systems.
I have over 250,000 miles on my '06 not really sure how many times I changed the rotors and pads, but its been a few now.
This last time I went with new calipers too. Like most HHR owners I fought the front end judders. Like everyone else I swapped a lot of probably not really bad parts for new ones.
I did have a rack and pinion go bad though. The only other thing that was actually 'bad' when I replaced it were the lower control arm bushings. Well the rear drum brakes did need to be replaced too and the front struts and rear shocks. The actual drums were still good enough to reuse after getting them turned a little.
I have to admit it was a lot of fun doing work that did not really need done, I learned a lot about taking apart strut front ends.
