Torque steer

I'll just chime in to agree with what many folks said above. The "torque steer" is much less apparent with TC disengaged (the light on). It would be logocal to assume as stated above that the TC applies braking to limit wheelspin. Whether or not that is the case, in dry weather I always drive with TC disengaged.
