As for the overall attitude in this thread about newbies I would really hate to be a new member right now reading this crap. It would definitely make me think twice about attending any kind of HHR Events. I'm done with the subject. If the administrator deems a change is needed then he will make that decision.
I've got absolutely nothing against newbies...in fact maybe just that term is a bit condescending...I welcome new members every chance I get & encourage them to attend events & participate here. I just think you should have enough interest in the site & HHRs to hang around & be elligible for the feature.

I know Dayton, you are trying to speak as an individual and i respect that, but it's tough to seperate yourself like that when you make comments like this. I find it interesting the so far today, the only ones so harshly against even considering this suggestion are two of the mods. All of the other comments have been positive for it and none of the others have been so.........excited. (Couldn't think of a nice way to say pissed-off!
Even the HHR-forum-which-will-not-be-named has minimum requirements for their contest. For similar reasons to what I have suggested. They even restrict WHO can vote! I don't think we need to go that far.
Don't see why this is such a big deal.
All members have the same options. That's fair to everyone in itself. Either participate, or don't. It's really that simple.
The purpose of this thread was to keep the negativity comments out of Featured Submissions and winners threads. Lets keep it that way. This is the proper place to post your suggestions/complaints in addition to hitting the report button in other forums.

What we must do as members of this forum, is to welcome every new members in the best way possible, and encourage them to participate actively.
More members = More fun.
Lets face this: The average Chevyhhr.net member median age is about 40 years old. At this age, most people have a lot of things to do at home, and don’t really have the time to participate actively. That doesn’t mean they don’t have the right to participate or express themselves when they do have the time.
When I bought my HHR, I was so happy
that when I found out there was a forum dedicated to the HHR, I started posting right away.
It was out of the question for me to read all the fine prints and forum rules… I had to express my enthousiasm immediately.
I’m a little sorry HarleyHHR’s july submission wasn’t valid…
Yes…Yes It was photoshopped… and everyone must read the fine prints right?
The ''bogus’’ photoshopped submission showed great ideas for HHR mods IMHO.
I think this HHR (even if it’s photoshopped) was the best looking HHR I’ve ever seen, even if it’s a ''virtual’’ HHR.
We live in a virtual world anyway.

Speaking as a Moderator:
From here on out, I will be deleting any derogatory statements posted in a "Featured" submissions thread. If you have a problem with the submission then you need to do what's allowed and that is hit the Attachment 5184 and report it. This report button/triangle (Attachment 5184) is located under every users name that posts in a thread.
If you don't want to use the Attachment 5184 then you can always convey your thoughts through PM. If neither of those works then keep your thoughts to yourself.
Now that I re-read this post there is not enough rant here. So here I go.
2 months after I joined this forum I was going to enter the Featured HHR contest. This was well before I became a mod. I had 10 pictures of my HHR, but they were all done by a professional, not me, and a lot of them contained additions such as blended/faded-in enterior pics around the edge of the pictures. One of them can be seen in my Profile. The license tag was also photoshopped to display my sons name instead of the Texas tag. I felt that alone would begin a flaming that I just didn't care to deal with, let alone the fact that I was a NOOB. Well looks like I was correct on the flaming I would have gotten. I am so ******* glad I never entered.
The self satisfaction that the winner obtains is awesome, but **** the reward is just month long display of little picture on the front page. YOU, the members, get to select the winner so if you don't want to vote for someone then don't vote for them. If you feel a HHR submitted doesn't qualify then REPORT IT, but don't post any more negative comments in a submissions thread. ******* rant over.
