Well, my son stopped at Walmart Friday to have his oil changed on his 2021 Jeep Trailhawk, they drained the oil, replaced the filter and started it up without adding oil!! the turbo did not like that and started screaming loudly. They shut it down and added oil.... so far it seems to be OK, but it is on record. They will owe him a turbo plus anything else if it fails. Not sure who screamed louder him or the truck....

Make them replace the turbo now! It’s their problem and expense. Don’t let it go until it fails out on the long lonesome highway! It’s a long walk home!

That was my suggestion, but you know kids nowdays have all the answers. Turbo is NOT covered by the extended warranty....

This reminds me of when I had my old 68 Sportster, and was low on oil during a trip. I stopped at a convenience store and bought a couple quarts of 10w40, and my friend said "That's the wrong oil! Your bike uses straight 50w!". To which I replied, "Wrong oil is better than NO oil"

I tend to look at it as changing your oil more often that recommended isn't going to harm anything in the long run, and is far cheaper than catastrophic engine failure.

I always laugh at the guys who try to set a record for the longest interval between oil changes..
