Air in cooling system
#12
Unless you want a faceful of very hot water that WILL cause 3 rd degree burns (real experience).
DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE BOLT! See post #5.
The coolant is about 200F at 15 psi, if you remove the bolt it will harm you.
The bolt is there for other applications, like oldblues Saturn.

I've sent you a PM. BTW Don , Sweetie's ride is a Pontiac Sunfire GT, which has a pressure tank system same as the early 2006 HHR's and I suppose Saturns. The black hose would go to the fitting in place of the plug bolt

I would not try the bolt removal as a bleeding method. You're just asking for a big mess with antifreeze getting on everything.
Either use the front end elevation method or take it to a shop and have them do it with the evacuation machine.
Fwiw. On the SS 2.0, there is no bolt there. There is a banjo style fitting with a coolant line that connects back around to the turbo.

Excellent point on the Banjo Fitting George, it's not applicable in Trex08's case, but it can keep an SS owner from doing something dangerous to themselves...and their engine.
Two options Trex, get its nose up, or get to a radiator shop.

Been a crazy week but I wanted to get back here and thank you guys for all the help. I burped her like a little baby it it def took care of the issue. You guys are the best. Still have a few little issues to solve with the blue flash panel until I get her on the road. Still driving the white panel until I sell it. Might wait till spring.
