Battery vent tube
I bought mine at NAPA 4 years ago. they were about $27 with sales tax.
Probably a high price but I needed them right away.
I did a temp job on one of the ones I broke.
Clear vinyl tubing the proper size. Cut about 3-4" long.
Use small plastic zip ties on each end.
I questioned your using gorilla glue ??? LOL

That shows it doesn’t fit the HHR.

According to some of the people in the reviews it will.I wouldn't be all that shocked if Amazon is wrong but like I said I will update this thread when it arrives.Who knows maybe it will save someone else money.I have purchased the "correct part" three times.
I hope so Don. It will be here tomorrow. Not sure if I will need to replace the grommet but I may if it looks like the same one.
My new battery did not include the tube. The funny thing is I have never broken one while installing or removing it.Sometimes if it weren't for bad luck I would have none at all.

Just ordered another one.
Not only did it work; it allows for a lot of options.I think I also figured out why mine was breaking. The aftermarket battery I installed has a large ledge under the vent hole. This means it would not allow the barb to fully engage without the 90 pressing against this ledge. It may also explain why so many of you haven't had this problem. The above kit allows you to use the longer end of the 90 in the battery and the shorter side towards the grommet. This allowed the vent to clear the battery without touching it.Both barbs are the same diameter and length. The included tubing is slightly smaller then the oem tube so I did change the grommet with the one provided and it was a perfect fit.Another option if you don't want to change the whole tube or grommet would be to insert the included tubing into the oem tube.It fits perfectly with just the right amount of resistance. You can actually push the included hose through the entire oem tube or just make a splice and add a short amount.
Someone may want to add this kit to the frequently used parts list.By ordering a second one I am sure it will never break again. That's just how my luck runs but for the price you could pick up 4 of these for the cost of the OEM tube.If anyone needs pictures of this I can surely add them.
