That's what I'm thinking too, European lighting standards are quite different from U.S. spec lighting, and then you have country by country differences.
France has different specs from Spain, Spain uses different standards than Portugal, etc.

Regards from Spain. I am the happy holder of a HHR LT who I possess from 2008. Lately the lights got damaged antifog and I am not to geld of the model to find hereabouts. For what I saw in Internet there are many similar models and not if they are compatible or not. The one that comes installed is 9140 of Sylvania. Do you know if his Base Type is HB3??
