2011 is the last year for the HHR, my dealer tells me that the memo from GM said that "buildout" AKA the end of production is set for May 20th. No final edition, nothing special, they'll just roll off into the sunset.

The local dealer doesn't even have them on the lot anymore..... Chances are they don't want one on the lot figuring it'll never sell.

No they will just build them out and the last ones more than not will go to fleet sales just as the G6 and others did.

GM needs the plant in Mexico for some of the new models they are coming out with in the next year or two. They have a lot of new product and need change the plants over.

No replacement for the HHR in the lineup, the era of the retro-mobiles is at an end for now. If Ford continues to rack up sales with the Transit van, I think we'll see GM respond with something along those lines, maybe.

GM has several models while not direct replacments will take the place of the HHR.

The Nox and Terrain is a very good vehicle and in FWD can be had at a very good price. With the way they have been selling the market has really taken to them

Also the GMC Granite is coming.

We also have a Regal wagon in the works.

retro is ok but it has a limited shelf life and then it boxes in the MFG in what they do next. If they change the design from retro they alienate many of the present owners. If they keep it the same sales tend to decline as it is much of the same. The PT Cruiser suffered this.

No matter what they do not everyone will be happy. GM has to do what will sell the most cars and based on what they have planned they will do fine.

I also agree the Transit Van has GM's interest. But this is only really a fleet sale item and the profits there can be a challange. Ford already imports these from Turkey with a back seat and windows. Once here they remove the window and rear seat to convert it to a truck vs car. This is how they beat the tarrif 25% chicken tax in the States on work trucks. They recycle the glass and the seat that were never uses. THis is how Ford keep the cost down on these and how they get them into the country cheaper.
