HHR window switch cover won't re-seat flush - dumb question

This is probably the most inconsequential problem ever discussed on this forum....but: We bought a used HHR (2011) and it was in great cosmetic shape but had some minor issues. The passenger side door handle was broken....I've fixed a bunch of those, and that's fixed (with a metal handle - won't have to fix that again). On the driver's side the power window switch would lower the passenger side window, but, it would not raise the window. It was a minor thing but a brand new switch, with shipping, was only 13 dollars and change (including shipping) on Ebay. So I bought that thing, hooked it up, and now the switches all work fine. I dropped the little panel in which the switches sit back into the whole in the door panel and the thing absolutely will not sit flush. On the end that's towards the rear of the car, and on the side nearest the outside of the car, it tilts up - very, very slightly but it's still driving me nuts. I actually took the thing to a mechanic who works on my cars and he messed with it and couldn't figure it out, either. He also laughed and said, "If I did that you'd never notice it - why worry about it?". It just bugs me. There is nothing in the way of this thing sitting down. As screwball a thing as this is - as minor - I thought maybe somebody on this forum might have had this happen before and have a clue. I'll attach a picture.

Did someone take it out? The tab at that end which slides under may be broke.

Tab if not broken

Yeah - I took it out replace a windows switch which was not working but the tab is not broken. I've pulled it in and out replacing the window switch that was bad, fiddled with the thing multiple times, and the tab is fine. It's some kind of voodoo. There is nothing in the way, that I can find, of this thing sitting down perfectly but it simply will not sit flush.

Maybe glue something to the underside of the opening, so that rhe tab will pull the insert down tighter?

Well, I went to the junkyard today for something else (for our other HHR) and the first HHR I found had the same deal - the panel on the driver's side was lifted slightly up in the same way. So I guess we can consider this case closed. Go figure. I didn't notice it sitting like that when I took it out for a minute to install a new switch. but, I guess I just didn't notice. Thanks for the input, regardless.
