Nothing is "wrong". He did a mod in which he used a 2007 dimmer switch in a 2006 to allow you to be able to turn the dome light on/off with the switch. The 2007's do this, the 2006's didn't.

Apparently this affected the driving lights too. Given a choice I'd rather have control of the dome light that the turn signals as driving lights. A fair trade-off IMO.

 

We definitely need to find out if the dimmer switch mod is causing this or if that particular install had issues.

I want to do the dimmer switch mod, but if it makes my low beams come on as daytime running lights, I'm not going to do it.

 

GDZHHR; I did that mod of putting the 07 dimmer in my 06 and it works just the same as it did before. front marker lights on when in gear headlights when dark. I don't see anything like he was saying about headlights on all the time.

I like being able to turn the dome light on in the rear, At time when you need to from the drivers seat.

Hello TomsHHR, this is not my car and i quess she needs to read the manual a little better. I had asked her if the outside lights could be controlled with the DIC and she told me that only the inside lights could be. If you have a chance can you please tell me what your light settings are on your 06. As for the dimmer switch, it works fine and is hooked up ie: 1 wire to ground and 1 wire to the gray wire in the fuse box. She must have 1 of the DIC setting in the ON position. Dimmer switch does not turn off the front headlights, it did when I unhooked the dimmer switch wire from the gray wire in the fuse box. All she wants is her amber light only back ON, along with the use of her dimmer. Thanks guys......
